Stringerboards
are elements connecting blocks and elements of the top deck.
If the top
deck consists of decks or is full (panels in chipboard or plywood),
it will be fixed to stringerboards by a joining of nails or hooks(staples).

Nailing of decks on blocks through stringerboards: The dimension
of the used nails is from 60 to 90 mm according to the thickness
of decks and stringerboards. Nails should be enough long to be
correctly fixed in the block. The used nails are usually twined
or notched to obtain a bigger resistance.
Nailing
of decks on stringerboard: The dimension of nails should be sufficient
so that the nail is riveted at the level of the stringerboard
(that is from 7 to 12 mm more than the total thickness of the
deck and the stringerboard).
