The
pallets skids of a palette are chanfreinées from both
directions to facilitate the passage of the wheels of the transpallet
on these boards as well in ascent as in descent.
If the
thickness of the bottom deck is superior to 15 mm, the edges
of the pallets skid should be chamfered. Indeed, to allow the
passage of a transpalette, the height of the deck should not
exceed 15 mm. With chamfers, the total thickness of the bottom
deck should not exceed 28 mm.

The
angle of the chamfer is generally 45 °. It can not exceed
50 °.
Decks
are mostly chanfreinées 4 times: two chamfers on each
side, placed on both intervals between three blocks or three
stringers.
Palettes in 4 blocks or 4 stringers can contain 3 chamfers on
each side. However, the space of blocks or stringers should correspond
to the space of the forks of the transpalette.
In certain
cases, to facilitate the manufacture of the palette, decks are
chamfered on all their length, it avoids realizing stopped chamfers,
operation which asks for a special machine with fixed chamfers.
