It is has good joinings technic (It consist one deforming the materials used to gather the elements).

Riveting pallets consist on rivet one so to pull down the point of the nail having let it exceed; The well fixed nail is thus more resistant in the arrachement.(*)

This operation is used to assemble the top deckboard and the stringerboard, the interest being to give a bigger resistance to the joining.

This riveting can be in shape of " J " or of "L" as it is made by:

Nails are pushed by the height
riveted nails stringerboard

A riveting-plate ( * ) mobile and sharp nails of diamond (if mechanical nailing)

To obtain a good riveting " J ", the movement of the tray riveur (who can be smooth or notched) should be perfectly coordinated with that of the nail: 1) The riveting-plate should begin to advance just before the meeting with the point of the nail.

2) So, the nail, pushed by the height and pulled by the point in a regular and progressive way will bend in half a perfect circle. All the nails are riveted in the same direction.

(*)In certain cases, the advanced use or ring nails can avoid the riveting because their resistance in the arrachement is more important than a smooth point. In that case, the length of the nail should be lower than the total thickness of the top deckboard and the strigerboard to avoid that the nail (overtakes), what would be dangerous in certain manual manipulations.

A riveting- plate( * ) fixed and nails.

1) Sharp beveled (if mechanical nailing)

In that case, the point of the nail being in bevel, the nail is going to slide on the steel smooth surface treated with the riveting-plate. The riveting will come true in shape of "L".

2) Sharp normal if one uses a hammer pneumatic If one uses a pneumatic drill and not beveled(marked) points, it will be enough to tilt slightly the hammer so that the nail attacks the plate with a certain angle and rivets in "L".
