16/01/06 AGROPUR Fine Cheese Division Simplifies Pallet Management With CHEP
LONGUEUIL, QC, Jan. 12 /CNW/ - Agropur Cooperative, Canada's leading
dairy coop, today announced it is transporting products from its Fine Cheese
Division on pallets from CHEP, the global leader in pallet and container
pooling solutions. The Fine Cheese Division makes a wide variety of cheeses
at
plants in Oka and St. Hyacinthe Quebec, and distributes to supermarkets,
grocery stores, club stores and foodservice operators from its facility in
Montreal Nord.
Agropur's Industrial Division launched the CHEP program last year and the
effort is helping the manufacturer reduce product damage while simplifying
its
pallet management processes. The fine Cheese Division is expecting these same
benefits as well as improved customer service and pallet quality.
"Our previous pallet management system required resources we knew could
be more effectively used on projects that helped grow our business, so we
sought out a solution that made the whole operation a lot more simple to
manage. We found that system with CHEP, which provides a program that delivers
high quality pallets every time and doesn't require us to invest a lot of
time
and money tracking down lost pallets and reduces the huge stacks of paperwork
we used to complete," said Benoit Larouche, Vice President, Distribution
and
Logistics, Agropur Fine Cheese Division.
Jason Adlam, Director, Sales, CHEP Canada said "With the success
Agropur's Industrial Division is having with our program, we welcome the
expansion to the Fine Cheese Division and will work diligently to make the
rollout equally beneficial to the company's operations."
