2009-03-12 GAO introduces tag for wooden pallets
Canada’s GAO RFID has launched an RFID tag designed specifically for use in tracking wooden pallets, one of the main transit platforms around the world. The passive Gen 2 tags offer several attributes which fit their intended application well, including cost-efficiency and a long read range in harsh conditions.
The 865-928 MHz tag integrates the NXP XM chip, EPC memory and additional memory enabling users to encode ample specific information. The tags have tested at a reliable read range of four meters in a variety of harsh environments.
The tags are also suitable for other wood-oriented tracking applications, from timber and lumber to finished wooden structures.
