About 60 Valley firefighters battled a two-alarm blaze Sunday night at a Phoenix pallet-storage facility, fire officials said.
The fire, which occurred near 69th Avenue and Adams Street, destroyed a home and prompted evacuations of 20 nearby homes, said Todd Harms, Phoenix assistant fire chief of operations. No one was hurt.
Fire engines from Phoenix, Glendale, Tolleson and Avondale responded to the blaze about 4:30 p.m. and had some trouble getting to the fire.
The unnamed storage facility, Harms said, was off the main road, and the crews' first-supply line was "burned up."
Firefighters were able to protect the facility and surrounding homes from the flames, except for one home. Officials said at least one family was displaced.
The cause of fire was under investigation.
