Brambles, the world's largest provider of pallets, has reached an agreement with Wal-Mart concerning the continued use of CHEP pallets.
Under the deal Wal-Mart's third party service providers will inspect the pallets at their own facilities or at Wal-Mart distribution centres. Pallets that meet CHEP's quality criteria will be reissued directly to CHEP manufacturer customers, whilst those requiring repair will be processed at CHEP service centres before being reissued.
Chief Executive Officer of Brambles, Mike Ihlein, commented:'The relationship between Wal-Mart and CHEP is a very important one for both companies and I am pleased that together we have been able to develop a solution that maintains the benefits...for the overall supply chain'.
