06/02/22 LAA announce Logistics Development Award

The 2006 Logistics Development Award (LDA) was launched on the 15th February by the Logistics Association of Australia (LAA), in conjunction with CHEP Asia Pacific.

LAA NSW President Allan Murray says many young professionals in the logistics and supply chain industry have benefitted from winning the award.

"It is exciting to be able to offer the same opportunity again this year," he says.

"As a former LDA winner myself, I have a real appreciation of the value that receiving this Award can bring to career development."

President CHEP Asia-Pacific Howard Wigham says CHEP understand the importance of innovation. "This Award gives the top logistics brains in the nation a chance to share in best practice logistics management from around the world, and to build knowledge in their own field of interest," he says. "We support this award because we see it as a way of helping others expand their horizons for the benefit of delivering value to the logistics industry as a whole."

The LAA says the Logistics Development Award has long been Australia's major logistics and education industry award.

The major prize of the 2006 Logistics Development Award is complimentary registration, travel and accommodation at the Annual Conference of the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals, to be held in San Antonio, Texas, from October 15-18, 2006.

Two prizes, to the value of $1500 each, are also being offered to contribute towards the costs of winners attending a logistics or supply chain conference within the Australia Pacific region. In addition, there will be three book prizes of $200 each.

Applicants for the LDA are required to submit a paper of approximately 1500 words on either:

* The most significant supply-chain trend that they see affecting business in Australia, or
* the most successful innovation in logistics or supply-chain in which they have been involved.

Applicants do not have to be members of the LAA. Entries close on June 30, 2006.
