A COMPANY with storage facilities in Colerne has apologised to residents after lorries blocked narrow roads in the village.
CHEP, which has a storage base at Colerne Airfield, issued letters of apology after residents complained they were being besieged by articulated lorries.
Residents said last month they had endured 18 months of lorries getting lost in the village and becoming stuck.
Now CHEP, which supplies pallets, said it is working with police and the highways authority to resolve the issue.
In the letter the company said it would contact its haulage contractors across the UK and Europe to advise them on the most appropriate routes to follow and would work with police to issue fines against haulage contractors who do not comply.
