Cleaning up: Dave Arthur with Loadhog's new £500,000 wash plant in Sheffield
Green packaging pioneer Loadhog has invested £500,000 in a state of the art washing plant to clean its innovative pallet stacking equipment.
The Sheffield firm is the inventor of the Loadhog Lid which eliminate the millions of tonnes of plastic wrap dumped in land fill sites after being used to secure loads to pallets..
The new washing plant, on Blast Lane, is designed to clean ingenious pads which Loadhog developed to be used with its Lids to transport stacks of glass bottles and eliminate the risk of the stacks collapsing, which they were prone to do using traditional methods involving strapping.

The pads have to be cleaned after every trip, to conform with stringent standards set by the glass industry, the British Retail Consortium and the Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point Protocol. Dave Arthur, who is in charge of the 10,000 sq. ft. facility, said: "This is an exciting and potentially highly profitable development for the company.
"Not only does the new facility enable us to make substantial savings but also to speed up the service for our largest customer, Quinn Glass, for whom we are currently washing 2.5 million pads annually."
