2008-02-08 Brambles announces new chairman
Pallet provider Brambles has a new chairman following the resignation of Don Argus.
Former deputy chairman Graham Kraehe will take over the role on Wednesday.
Mr Kraehe said Mr Argus was retiring "due to his other business commitments".
He said that, under Mr Argus's leadership, Brambles had united the ownership of CHEP globally to create the world's largest pallet polling operator.
Brambles manages 285 million pallets globally through its CHEP business and stores physical and digital information through its Recall business.
Mr Argus, who has been chairman since 1999, said the company was "extremely well placed".
Under the new chairman, Brambles would "continue to build on the achievements of previous years", he said in a statement.
Mr Kraehe is the chairman also of BlueScope Steel and a board member of the Reserve Bank of Australia.
