2008-02-07 Amsterdam pallet company looking to expand
Power Pallet is eyeing a $3 million expansion that would create a second production line and bring up to 65 new jobs. The company builds and recycles wooden pallets.
Montgomery County supervisors are reviewing a half a million dollar state grant application that would help pay for the part of the project. According to that application, new jobs would include production line workers, assemblers and pallet sorters. Those jobs could pay between $10 and $14 an hour.
The grant is part of the state's office for small cities. As part of that program, the jobs created must go to people with low to moderate incomes.
