2007-10-18 2ic Pallets Now Enables Pallet Data Transfer to IPP Logipal and LPR for UK & Ireland Pallet Markets
Following its recent decision to enter the United Kingdom and Irish markets, 2ic Software has released a new version of 2ic Pallets that fully caters for the pallet reconciliation and management needs of European users.
New modules in 2ic Pallets enable exporting pallet transfer data to European pallet pool operators IPP Logipal and LPR.
2ic Pallets has also been enhanced to improve communications with CHEP to provide organisations using CHEP equipment with the most efficient pallet control system available.
As 2ic CEO, Andrew Whittam explains, “many CHEP users have traditionally used that supplier’s DOS-based BlueTrack pallet reconciliation system. DOS-based systems cannot be supported forever and an alternative system is finally available with the release of 2ic Pallets in the UK and Ireland.
“Data can be transferred from BlueTrack to 2ic Pallets to facilitate the changeover with minimum fuss and disruption. It equally permits the simultaneous reconciliation of pallet movements from other suppliers in the one single computer tool.
“We have also upgraded our software to fully comply with the latest CHEP global formats (CGF exports and GTL imports) that are used for the transfer of data to and from CHEP’s own computer applications.
“In this upgrade we have ensured that 2ic Pallets continues talking to other IT applications, such as warehouse management and transport management systems, in such a way that users can use their own customer numbers rather than having to use CHEP’s global identification codes.”
Mr Whittam notes that all program changes have been carried out after comprehensive liaison with CHEP, IPP Logipal and LPR.
