Firefighters spent most of Sunday evening battling a large fire in a wooden pallet recycling facility near the Kingman Airport.
Hualapai Valley Fire Chief Wayne Eder said the first call came in just after six o'clock. The flames spread across the three acre property from the pallets to 10 vehicles and nearby brush. Cars, two motor homes, and some heavy construction equipment have been destroyed in the fire.
Eder said it took almost two hours to bring the fire under control. More than 50 firefighters from several Mohave County fire departments fought the flames using seven engines, a ladder truck and eight water tenders. Eder added there have been no injuries to firefighters or civilians.
This is the third time in a year there has been a fire at this facility. Eder said the previous two blazes were labeled suspicious. It is too soon to determine the cuase of this fire
