A Fanelli Warehousing & Distribution Center Inc. employee was transported by helicopter to Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown area, after an accident involving a forklift around 1 p.m. Friday.
Pottsville police Chief Joseph H. Murton V said officers didn't file a report on the incident because it was an "industrial accident" and wasn't a police call.
Dan Fanelli, operations manager for the company, said he wouldn't release the employee's name.
Fanelli said the man was operating a forklift when he bumped into a pallet and became sandwiched between the pallet and the forklift.
He said the man was flown to Lehigh Valley Hospital as a precaution but was released with no injuries around 4 p.m.
Fanelli said he didn't know why the man was flown to Lehigh Valley to be treated instead of being transported to a local hospital by ambulance.
Officials at Lehigh Valley said they could not confirm or deny that a patient from the county had been admitted or released.
