2007-04-14 New pallet wrappers for Strapex
Strapex, one of the world's leading suppliers of end of line packaging equipment, has further extended its range with two new families of pallet stretchwrapping machines.
The new SWA range of semi-automatic pallet wrappers incorporates an innovative rotating arm, which encircles the pallet with wrapping film while the pallet remains stationary. The lack of centrifugal forces means stress and strain on both the load and the equipment is minimised, making this equipment particularly suitable for very heavy, fragile or unstable loads. The machines require minimal space as no turntable or ramp access are required, and no hold down device is required either.
They can be pillar or wall mounted, and offer four programmable wrapping programs with eight functions.
Optional power pre-stretch of up to 300% ensures optimum consumable use, while wrapping is gentle with minimal pressing on the edge of the load, and up to 35 pallets per hour can be wrapped.
The SWA products are particularly suited to production plants with hygiene regulations, as the floor is left clear.
They can accommodate pallets of up to 2900mm in height, with maximum pallet area of 1250mm x 1250mm.
An optional pull-out rotating arm allows this to be extended to 1400mm x 1400mm.
Meanwhile, the SWR range of ring system pallet wrappers is ideal for either stand-alone use or full integration into mainstream production.
Film insertion, wrapping, 'cording up' at the film end and film cutting are all automatic, and again the pallet remains stationary during wrapping, which can be started and finished at any height required.
Power pre-stretch again enables optimal film usage and makes the range suitable for wrapping light or fragile products.
The skip ring system creates constant film tension, while pallet positioning is optimised through photocall monitoring.
The SWR30 is ideal for applications where space is at premium and no top sheet is required, and can wrap up to 30 pallets per hour.
The SWR40 and 45 can each wrap 50 pallets per hour without a top sheet, while the SWR50 is designed for applications where a top sheet is required and can again handle 50 pallets per hour.
The range can accommodate pallets of up to 1700mm x 2050mm, with a maximum wrapping height of 2400mm.
As well as the equipment, Strapex can supply all consumable needs as well as offering a complete maintenance service.
Scott Macpherson, Sales Manager for Strapex, commented: 'Between them, the SWA and SWR ranges can cope with all pallet wrapping needs, whether stand-alone or fully integrated, and for all products regardless of weight, stability or fragility.
'The addition of these products to our range confirms our ability to supply end of line packaging needs for all sectors, whether they require strapping, stretchwrapping or a combination of the two.'
