2007-02-22 Plastics, pallets catch fire (Joachim Azzopardi)
ABOUT 50 firefighters were called to a blaze at a Welshpool warehouse yesterday afternoon.
Plastic furniture and wooden pallets caught fire outside the Bunnings distribution warehouse on Pilbara St about 4.50pm.
FESA spokesman Mike Klemer said a large plume of smoke was seen by residents living in Perth's southern suburbs.
He said the fire was brought under control an hour later and firefighters were damping down the area until about 9.30pm.
FESA and the Police Arson Squad were investigating the cause of the fire and evaluating the damage this morning.
No one was injured in the blaze.
