2007-02-20 Standards group works up RFID (Ben Woodhead)
STANDARDS organisation GS1 Australia will hand down the findings of the second phase of its radio frequency identification testing and proof of concept program at a Sydney conference in June.
The report, aimed at providing a business case for RFID technology, will be delivered at the Smart 2007 supply chain conference.
Telstra, Chep, GS1 and RMIT University are among organisations participating in the second phase of testing, which began after the July publication of a report on the first phase of GS1's RFID testing. The second phase, to be completed by the end of April, has funding from the federal Department of Communications, Information Technology and the Arts.
