2007-02-16 Klenk : Pallet blocks instead of pallets

Klenk has decided to use its saw dust and residue for the production of pallet blocks. Including other investments in equipment for saw dust preparation and a new power plant, the company is planning to invest 20 million Euro in Oberrot (Germany). Production of pallet blocks will start in the 2nd Quarter of 2007 and the production volume will be of 45.000 ton/year. Klenk will become a complete supplier for pallet producers after this investment. The marketing of this product will be done by Klenk.
The company also reported a growth of 20% of its sales in 2006 to 480 million Euro. Italy, France and Japan are its main export markets. Exports to the USA declined in 2006 because of the negative evolution of the US housing market.
