2007-02-05 Tax money wasted on pallets

I am writing on behalf of all taxpayers in Ohio.

The state contracts with different suppliers to bring goods to the different prisons and to Ohio Department of Transportation. These supplies come in on wooden pallets that are thrown in the trash, and then the taxpayers have to pay the trash collector to have them picked up.

I am a taxpayer who happens to have my own small business recycling wood pallets. I was told by Harley Garn that my business was not allowed to get the pallets anymore, that they were to be thrown in a Dumpster. We taxpayers will have to pay to have them hauled off.
I had been hauling their pallets off at no cost to the state or county for about 12 months. We used our fuel and time to get these pallets. Now all of a sudden I'm told that we were not allowed to recycle them any longer (and I might add for no reason). This is another way that the employees of this state are wasting taxpayers' money.
