2006-08-18 Palian Cape on the boil
Since the opening of Palian Cape in Tokai, a mere six months ago more than 24 000 pallet positions have been successfully installed locally, using the patented Racklock Pallet Racking System. This is confirmation of the sustained growth in the material handling industry, the company says.
The need for superior products, at internationally market related prices, backed by substantial local infrastructure, seems to be growing even more, as end users are realising the obvious advantages of using local products, says MD Johan Crafford.
More demands are being placed on every aspect of materials handling; products need to be stronger and longer lasting, lead times need to be quicker and service or spares available immediately, as distribution operations have to continue meeting the consumers demands, he says.
“Palian Cape’s rapid growth is largely due to the fact that all products are locally stocked, obviously reducing lead times considerably. At the same time damages can be repaired or replaced immediately, ensuring operations continue, whilst all products have undergone substantial development to ensure an increase in strength. End frame uprights have additional bends, seamless beams ensure less deflection, both increasing the overall strength of the system,” Crafford says.
In order to further assist in meeting the growing industry demands, Palian
has opened their own projects division, Palian Projects. This experienced
division has the capability to assist and design the most practical, functional
and cost effective layouts of racking, shelving or mezzanine floors. These
standard products are integrated with other material handling equipment, ensuring
a complete, cost effective solution to materials handling.
