06/04/05 NextLife Integrates Pallets into Its Plastic Recycling Programs;
Closed-Loop Programs Now Enable Recyclers to Use Products Made From
Their Scrap
DELRAY BEACH, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 4, 2006--NextLife Recycling,
a plastic film and bag recycler and product manufacturer, announces the
expansion of its TuffStack(TM) pallet line from one to five. TuffStack
plastic pallets are made from 100% recycled content and present both
economic and environmental benefits over traditional wood and plastic
pallets. Built to handle hundreds of use cycles, TuffStack plastic
pallets are ideal for meat packing, food processing, grocery and retail
distribution, and freezer and cold storage operations.
NextLife pallets are manufactured from post-consumer film and bags
collected from grocery and retail chains. Because NextLife works with
distribution centers (DCs) and warehouses for major grocery and retail
chains, NextLife understands their recycling program needs and their
specific material handling requirements. Waste generators typically
sell their plastic scrap simply based on "price per pound," and
often
to the highest bidder. Focusing on price - and price only - can result
in short-changing a company's recycling program. With both economic and
environmental benefits outweighing a mere half-penny, what happens to
plastic scrap after it is sold matters, and is the difference between a
good and a great recycling program.
"At the end of the day, waste generators can sell their scrap to
anybody," said Jeff Silver, Vice President of Business Operations for
NextLife Recycling. "The major difference is that NextLife offers waste
generators significant value and strategic benefit well beyond the
initial scrap sale. Our closed-loop programs help companies maximize
the overall return on their recycling program and give those programs
sustainability. It's a win-win for the distribution centers, the
environment and a natural fit for NextLife."
The TuffStack pallet line offers a variety of plastic pallets for
light, medium and heavy duty uses. The pallets have dynamic load
capacities ranging from 2,500 to 5,500 pounds, and are offered in
varying deck sizes and designs. Retail pricing starts at $13.75 per
pallet. Additional pallets to be launched this summer. NextLife is
currently seeking qualified distributors to carry the TuffStack line.
