18/04 EU and CH : New wooden packaging prescriptions (ISPM15, IPPC)

As we have already heard last year, the European Union and Switzerland will introduce new packing rules as of the 1st of March 2005. All imports to Europe have to be according to the IPPC standards.

To what packings does the NIMP-15 apply to :
The NIMP-15 regulates Massif wood

Which wood packagings aren't regulate by this rule :
All wood that is glued or pressed together
Massif wood that is less than 6mm thick

What treatments does the wood have to go through to be according to the rules :
HT, Heat treatment : The wood is heated to 56°C for 30minutes
CPI, Chemical Pressure Impregnation
MB, Methyl bromide, also know as Fumigation
Has to be marked so that we know it was treated.(no red or orange colors allowed)
