17/10/05 RedPrairie Participates in CHEP Innovation Center
Pallet provider CHEP has implemented RedPrairie Corp.'s DLx Warehouse software at is Orlando, Fla., RFID Innovation Center.
CHEP recently expanded the RFID capabilities of the Innovation Center to showcase end-to-end tracking of pallets, cases and items from receiving and put-away, to inventory management and shipping. RedPrairie provides the warehousing management solution and visibility to all supply chain participants involved in the movement of goods.
"The main purpose of this real time simulation at the Innovation Center is to showcase how RFID provides total visibility to the supply chain. We have a constant flow of customers, prospects and partners coming through to learn how they can improve their logistics performance using RFID. The RedPrairie solution ties the demonstration together, enabling end-to-end visibility leading to benefits in the area of product tracking, asset tracking, on-shelf availability and automatic checkout," said Puneet Sawhney, RFID Program Manager for CHEP.
"The retail RFID initiative has mandated many of our joint customers to apply RFID tags at the case and pallet level on shipments destined for stores and other distribution centers. At the Innovation Center, CHEP and RedPrairie are demonstrating a best-in-breed deployment of RFID, from satisfying retailer mandates to capturing RFID data for their own internal use and ROI," said David Vollmer, Regional Account Executive, RFID, for RedPrairie.
