2009-09-21- Johnston Co. Announce Options For Banned Landfill Item
The Johnston County Solid Waste Division has announced options for disposing items banned from landfills.
Effective Oct. 1, plastic bottles, oil filters and wooden pallets will be banned from all North Carolina Landfills.
To comply with the bans, plastic bottles and oil filters will be collected at the Johnston County Landfill and the County convenience sites.
Wooden pallets will be collected at the County Landfill Yard Waste Facility for a fee.
Solid Waste Staff will be spot checking waste loads for non-compliance and will act accordingly.
