Intelligent Global Pooling Systems has announced that beginning in mid-May, Dole Fresh Vegetables Inc. will use iGPS' all plastic, 100 percent recyclable pallets with embedded radio frequency identification tags in shipping its products.

Monterey, Calif.-based Dole joins Imperial Sugar, Martori Farms to have switched from wood to Intelligent Global (iGPS Co. LLC) plastic pallets. Dole Fresh Vegetables is part of Dole Food Co. Inc., which had 2007 revenues of $6.2 billion.

Orlando-based iGPS provides manufacturers and retailers with plastic pallets embedded with radio frequency identification tags that enable shippers and receivers to track and trace shipments in real time.
