A 51-year-old female employee of Blue Water Automotive Systems In. in Howell Township was injured early this morning when a falling plastic pallet container struck her.

Livingston County sheriff's deputies said it is unknown if the pallet actually hit the Handy Township woman in the head when it fell about 6:20 a.m. from a 20 foot high shelf or if it simply hit her and knocked her to the floor where her head struck the concrete floor.

The woman suffered a minor head laceration, police said, but was disoriented and confused, which usually indicates a more serious condition.

The woman was taken by helicopter to University of Michigan Medical Center in Ann Arbor. Her condition is not immediately known.
