2006-12-02 This is the Daybreak
LPR UK continues its stellar 2006 with news of another contract win, this time with Daybreak Foods, the Ascot-based supplier of own label ambient foods to leading retailers.
Daybreak Foods imports pasta, olive oil, canned fruits and tomato-based products from countries across the EU, with goods coming into its warehouse facilities at Wisbech.
With turnover in excess of 30 million last year, the company is growing rapidly and is now taking up to three pallet deliveries a week from LPR. Red pallet supply is expected to expand into Europe for Daybreak shortly, particularly from Spain and Italy, where much of Daybreaks supply comes from.
Nick Dowthwaite, director, of Daybreak Foods, explains, “We've never had our own pallet pool before, as that side of the business was handled externally. But we decided to go our own way and LPR made that transition seamless.
”The LPR pallet pool is a high quality one and it was for this reason, as well as its commitment to service, that we went with the red pallet. The relationship is developing into an extremely strong one and almost 75% of our product now moves with the Redditch-based company.”
Jane Gorick, managing director of LPR UK, said, “2006 has seen us turn a fundamental corner in the UK marketplace.
“When one adds in the strength of the team that we have here, a team that knows the retail supply chain inside out, it's easy to see why more companies are moving across to us.
Gorick concludes, “Daybreak is a great example of the sort of forward-thinking, innovative organisation that we love to work alongside and I hope we are able to continue to support its business growth.”
