03/11/05 Brambles director makes maiden purchase

Brambles Industries saw another director splashing into shares today with one of its non-executives making their maiden purchase.

Non-executive director Jacques Nasser, former president and CEO of Ford Motor and former chairman of Polaroid, splashed out £319,500 on 100,000 shares in Brambles.

The move follows finance director Michael Ihlein's purchase of 50,000 shares last week and non-executive Luke Mayhew's 8,000 buy a week before that.

Shares in the pallet supplier recently touched on a three and a half year high culminating last week in a statement that showed earnings for the three months to September were "well ahead" compared to the last year.

The group is hoping to sell its German operation Cleanaway early next year, subject to approval from the relevant competition authorities in Europe and recently sold its CHEP USA reusable plastic container assets for an undisclosed fee. Top Director Buys
